What personal data we collect and why we collect it
comments
When visitors leave comments on the website, we collect the data shown on the comments form and also the visitor's IP address and the sequence of browser user agents to help detect spam.
An anonymous string created from your email address (also called a hash) can be provided to the Gravatar service to verify that you are using it. The Gravatar service's privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile photo is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies
If you leave a comment on our website, you can choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you don't have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for a year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we’ll also set up multiple cookies to save your login information and your screen display options. Login cookies last two days and screen option cookies last one year. If you select “Remember me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you sign out of your account, login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie does not include personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. Expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other sites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (for example, videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other sites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor had visited the other site.
These sites may collect data about you, use cookies, incorporate additional third-party tracking and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content, if you have an account and are logged into that site.

With whom we share your data
How long do we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata will be retained indefinitely. This is so that we can automatically recognize and approve all follow-up comments, rather than keeping them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except that they cannot change their username). Site administrators can also view and edit this information.
What rights do you have over your data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we keep about you, including all the data you have provided to us. You can also request that we collect all personal data that we hold about you. This does not include any data that we are required to maintain for administrative, legal or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments can be verified using an automated spam detection service.
